First home buyers in Queensland
Queensland has the biggest grant of the three states: $30,000 on eligible new homes, with no stamp duty on new homes or land to build on.
What you could get
- $30,000 First Home Owner Grant on new homes valued under $750,000, including land.
- No transfer duty on new homes, with no value cap on the home and its residential land.
- No transfer duty on vacant land to build your first home on.
- Established homes: no duty up to $700,000, and reduced duty to $800,000.
- 5% Deposit Scheme up to $1,000,000 in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, and $700,000 elsewhere.
To keep a Queensland duty concession, you must move in within a year of settlement. Selling or fully renting the home within a year of moving in can affect it. Also ask about Boost to Buy. Search on realestate.com.au and Domain.
